About the Role
Reporting to the VP of Growth, the Account Executive will be Baselane’s first dedicated sales hire and the 10th member of our growth team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to directly shape the sales processes, engage deeply with customers, and drive growth from day one. You will be responsible for driving marketing qualified leads (MQLs) to become activated Baselane users. This will significantly impact the business, and we envision an uncapped performance bonus to align our success with yours.
As the first sales hire, you will also be integral in shaping our systems and processes, advocating for customer needs and pain points, and building the playbook for success. Please note that this is a hybrid role that will require at least 2 days a week in our downtown Toronto office, a few blocks from Union Station.
What you will be doing
- Drive sales and conversions among Baselane's highest value prospects.
- Act as a trusted advisor to landlords and property investors, deeply understanding their operational needs, pain points, and growth goals.
- Help to optimize internal processes for tracking leads, managing the pipeline, and reporting key success metrics.
- Collect and translate customer feedback into actionable insights for product enhancements and service improvements.
- Help shape Baselane’s customer acquisition and expansion strategy, bringing innovative ideas and best practices to drive accelerated growth.
- Proactively identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities across Baselane’s products, including banking, rent collection, bookkeeping, tenant management, and premium SaaS offerings.
What we're looking for
- 2-5 years of successful experience in sales, customer success, account management, or a related client-facing role with a quota.
- Proven track record of effectively managing customer relationships, driving product adoption, and exceeding sales or retention targets.
- Excellent consultative selling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate Baselane’s value proposition to diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working with senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, driven, proactive, and excited to help shape the future of financial solutions for real estate investors.
- Highly organized, capable of independently managing multiple customer relationships and opportunities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) to manage leads, pipeline, and performance metrics.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
Bonus points
- Experience with financial technology, banking services, or real estate investment products.
- Prior experience in a high-growth startup or entrepreneurial environment.
- Familiarity with latest AI tools used to improve sales team performance
- Familiarity with landlords, property management companies, or real estate investors as customer segments.
