At Conduit, we’re redefining how businesses move money across borders—faster, cheaper, and more reliably than legacy systems. Powered by stablecoin rails, we’re already processing billions for thousands of businesses worldwide, and our growth is accelerating. We’re at a tipping point, and we need a Banking Partnerships Lead to fuel our next leap forward—scaling a global network that’s set to transform cross-border payments.
Our team spans the globe, but this role is anchored in Eastern Time (North America) business hours for meetings and collaboration, with occasional international travel to forge partnerships that shape our future.
Mission:
To lead our global banking partnerships strategy, securing and growing relationships with financial institutions worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partnership Development: Identify, negotiate, and onboard banking partners across key markets (North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia).
- Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for banking partners, fostering trust, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment with our business goals.
- Regulatory Navigation: Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to local banking regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strategic Alignment: Translate our company’s vision into partnership terms, securing favorable conditions (e.g., pricing, liquidity access, API integration) that enhance our competitive edge.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to integrate banking rails into our platform, ensuring a frictionless end-to-end experience.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of trends in stablecoin adoption, banking infrastructure, and fintech regulation to proactively adapt our partnership strategy.
Experience
- 5-10 years in banking, fintech, or payments: Proven track record of building and managing partnerships with financial institutions, ideally in a B2B context.
- Cross-Border Expertise: Hands-on experience with international payment systems (e.g., SWIFT, SEPA, local RTGS) and an understanding of how stablecoins intersect with traditional rails.
- Fintech Exposure: Prior role at a high-growth fintech and / or a bank with a strong digital innovation focus.
- Partnership Wins: Demonstrable success in negotiating complex deals with banks—think contracts that unlocked new markets or optimized costs.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic Thinking: Can see the big picture—how banking partnerships fit into our stablecoin vision—and break it down into actionable steps.
- Relationship Mastery: High EQ, adept at influencing C-suite bankers and regulators while managing long-term relationships under pressure.
- Technical Fluency: Comfortable discussing API integrations, blockchain infrastructure, and stablecoin mechanics with both bankers and our engineering team.
- Execution Obsession: A driver who thrives in ambiguity, sets aggressive timelines, and delivers results without hand-holding.
Motivational Fit:
- Mission-Driven: Passionate about fintech innovation and the potential of stablecoins to transform global payments.
- Ownership Mindset: Treats this role as their own fiefdom, proactively identifying opportunities and solving problems without waiting for direction.
- Resilience: Comfortable with the chaos of a Series A/B startup—think late nights, shifting priorities, and occasional regulatory curveballs.
Nice to Haves:
- Existing network of banking contacts in fintech-friendly regions (e.g., Singapore, UAE, UK).
- Experience with stablecoin or blockchain-based projects (e.g., worked with USDC, RippleNet, or similar).
- Fluency in a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish) to unlock key markets.
