Position overview
We’re looking for a Talent & People Operations Coordinator to support both recruiting and core people operations in a part-time (20-25 hours per week), mostly remote role. This role sits at the intersection of talent acquisition and people operations. On the talent side, your focus will include recruiting coordination and candidate experience. On the people operations side you’ll focus on HR operations, onboarding/offboarding, and payroll administration.
You’ll play a key role in creating a smooth, human experience for candidates and employees alike, owning day-to-day execution while partnering closely with leadership.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced high-growth environment, and who wants meaningful ownership without a full-time schedule.
We work mostly from home, but ask that team members are located in either the Greater Montreal or Greater Toronto areas so that we can occasionally bring the team together in person.
Role responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Coordination
- Manage job postings and inbound candidates
- Screen resumes and conduct initial phone screens
- Coordinate interviews and manage scheduling
- Communicate with candidates throughout the process to ensure a thoughtful, timely experience
- Support offer coordination and hiring logistics
People Operations
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain employee records and HR systems
- Support benefits administration and vendor coordination
- Help keep people operations documentation, templates, and policies up to date
- Ensure compliance with federal and province employment-related regulations
- Payroll administration
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of experience in recruiting coordination, people operations, HR administration, or similar roles
- Hands-on experience running or supporting payroll administration is a plus
- Experience working with HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear, empathetic communicator
- Comfortable juggling priorities and shifting focus based on business needs of a high growth start-up
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Functional proficiency in French is required to support hiring and communication with candidates and employees with varying English and French language abilities across Canada.
