The Opportunity

Compliance departments are facing an unprecedented amount of manual reviews that are time consuming and require large human teams. Manual reviews of hundreds of potential sanctions hits; Enhanced Due Diligence reviews on high risk customers; fraud investigations and quality assurance of key AML/BSA processes is not only extremely costly but is a major drag on growth.

Diagram is building an AI copilot to help investigation teams reduce the amount of time spent doing sanctions, adverse media and social media searches as well as EDD reviews and risk rating customers.

Like all of Diagram’s portfolio companies, commercial and technical risks have been significantly mitigated and we have strong interest from design partners.

What we’re looking for

We have interest in a design partnership from leading fintechs and we’re looking for a strong CTO with an AI background who can work with the design partners to iterate on the product and hire the technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute, build upon, and scale the business’ product and technology vision. Empower the team to take ownership of this vision and drive the company’s success. Develop a vision for the development of a strong technology platform by aligning short term deliverables with long term objectives.
• Continue to build out the technology backbone of the company. Includes, but not limited to: user-facing SaaS workflow tools, cloud infrastructure and integrations with LLMs, vector databases, and application frameworks such as Langchain; model fine-tuning; etc.
• Build and lead a high caliber team. Facilitate recruitment, retention, and professional development of “A” player early hires across all technology profiles.
• Own technical architecture and development. Assume accountability for the design, implementation, and evolution of the technical systems. This includes making decisions regarding the selection of technologies, architecture design, and engagement with vendors or partners.
• Product direction. Engage with the wider organization to solicit feedback and identify opportunities where technology can serve as a unique competitive advantage.
• Staying ahead of the curve. Review and evaluate latest technology developments with the goal to integrate them in the product to improve the user experience.
• Support vendors and customers. Invest time with our partners and help them onboard and succeed using our products.

Requirements

• Track record of building AI and SaaS products from the ground-up that have great UI/UX, scalability, and resilience.
• Strong data security background and demonstrated history of designing, building and maintaining platforms that prioritize security, especially in handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
• Hands-on experience building applications that leverage LLMs, AI, NLP in production environments, experience with prompt engineering methodologies.
• Background building technical products to drive compliance, onboarding or AML functions.
• Track record of identifying and hiring top talent as well as leading high-performance teams.
• Strong product background is highly advantageous.
