Summary

We are launching a SaaS company developing an AI logistics platform for freight forwarders, brokers, and 3PLs to automate digitally repetitive tasks within their operations teams. We are looking for an entrepreneurial and highly motivated, technical Co-Founder & CTO to head the engineering team in charge of infrastructure, architecture, and design.

Please note: This is not an employee opportunity at Diagram Ventures, but in a new company created through our venture studio model. This company will be independent of Diagram Ventures, and the founding team will receive the majority of the equity in the venture.

The Opportunity

The logistics sector faces significant challenges due to disjointed software systems, inconsistent communication standards, and unstructured data handling. These pain points force logistics providers to standup expensive operations teams focused on repetitive coordination tasks.

Our AI-powered Logistics Operations Platform addresses these issues by integrating and structuring data from various sources, automating follow-up tasks, and generating sales quotes. This innovation streamlines logistics operations, reducing the reliance on large teams for repetitive, low-level tasks. By automating core workflow components, our solution enables logistics providers to reallocate their resources to more valuable activities like customer acquisition and support, revolutionizing the industry's efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Who we are looking for

We are assembling a dream team of entrepreneurs and technologists, and we are now looking for an accomplished CTO to lead the venture. If you are up for it, you will:

• Execute, build upon, and scale the business’ product and technology vision. Empower the team to take ownership of this vision and drive the company’s success. Develop a vision for the development of a strong technology platform by aligning short term deliverables with long term objectives.
• Continue to build out the technology backbone of the company. Includes, but not limited to: user-facing SaaS workflow tools, cloud infrastructure and integrations with LLMs, vector databases, and application frameworks such as Langchain; model fine-tuning; etc.
• Build and lead a high caliber team. Facilitate recruitment, retention, and professional development of “A” player early hires across all technology profiles.
• Own technical architecture and development. Assume accountability for the design, implementation, and evolution of the technical systems. This includes making decisions regarding the selection of technologies, architecture design, and engagement with vendors or partners.
• Product direction. Engage with the wider organization to solicit feedback and identify opportunities where technology can serve as a unique competitive advantage.
• Staying ahead of the curve. Review and evaluate latest technology developments with the goal to integrate them in the product to improve the user experience.
• Support vendors and customers. Invest time with our partners and help them onboard and succeed using our products.

Background and experience

Must Have:

• Track record of building AI and SaaS products from the ground-up that have great UI/UX, scalability, and resilience.
• Hands-on experience building applications that leverage LLMs, AI, NLP in production environments, experience with prompt engineering methodologies.
• Track record of identifying and hiring top talent as well as leading and scaling high-performance teams.
• Strong product background is highly advantageous.

Nice to Have:

• Relevant experience within logistics / supply chain (e.g. built software for Freight Forwarders, Carriers, Brokers, etc)
