Summary

We are launching a ClimateTech venture that will drive forward the EV transition and enable dealerships to sell EVs faster, retain customers, and acquire more used vehicles through battery-centric tools. We are looking for an entrepreneurial and highly experienced individual to act as Founder and Chief Technology Officer to build, lead and scale this venture.

The opportunity

As we move along the adoption curve of EVs, we are passing the chasm of early adopters and moving into the mainstream market. In 2024, nearly 2 million people will be walking onto a dealer lot considering an EV. Unlike early adopters, this group has different interest levels, knowledge levels, and buying preferences and will rely on dealers for help in deciding if an EV is right for them.

Dealerships are now at the forefront of the EV transition, as they will be responsible for driving the next phase of growth. We have defined a vision for a company that will help dealers across the lifecycle of an EV with battery-centric tools, providing the intelligence they need to move this inventory quickly & profitably,

This venture has been significantly de-risked, with product-market fit verified and a solid commercial pipeline. Diagram provides capital, network, and support services, giving you the leverage you need to quickly scale this business. Who we’re looking for:

We are assembling the dream team of entrepreneurs and technologists, and we are now looking for an accomplished VP of Battery Intelligence to help build the venture and guide the strategic vision.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop robust solutions for the acquisition & processing of EV battery data, extracting insights, and generating State of Health reports, including but not limited to the following:
• • Building regression models around EV battery degradation using machine learning techniques
  • Designing the breadth and depth of the data collection process from BMS systems and implementing strategies to obtain this information
  • Acting as subject matter expert in determining the visualization strategy of battery health data for customers
• Work closely with the CEO and CTO to align on the product vision of the company

The ideal candidate:

Experience:

• Solid understanding of battery algorithms and predictive data modelling
• Knowledgeable about EV battery performance indicators and battery cell module characterization
• Strong understanding of techniques used in data analysis: data pre-processing and cleaning, feature selection, model training and validation, data visualization
• Experience working with EV battery data across multiple OEMs with understanding of the most effective methods of extracting EV battery health data
• Experience working in fast-growth environments in early-stage companies

Other Desirable Assets:

• Familiarity with battery equipment including BMS
• Highly analytical with demonstrated expertise in data science fields
