Co-Founder & CTO, New Venture: Receivables Finance Platform
Diagram Ventures
Summary
We are launching a fintech platform to finance receivables at small- and medium-sized enterprises at scale. We are looking for an entrepreneurial and highly motivated, technical Co-Founder & CTO to head the engineering team and lead infrastructure, development, and design.
Please note: This is not an employee opportunity at Diagram Ventures, but in a new company created through our venture studio model. This company will be independent of Diagram Ventures, and the founding team will receive the majority of the equity in the venture.
The Opportunity
Receivables financing is one of the fastest growing segments of the $35T trade finance industry. Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) lack funding to cover their working capital needs. Banks and legacy platforms have not built the tech required to onboard SMEs at scale, due to the cost involved relative to the value of financing SME flows.
Relatedly, financiers such as private credit funds seek to deploy capital into receivables based assets but do not have the infrastructure in place to do so themselves. Funds are searching for platforms that enable them to get this exposure.
Our Receivables Finance Platform addresses these issues by integrating with SME supplier banking and ERP systems to automatically assess creditworthiness and issue credit at scale.
Who we are looking for
We are assembling a strong team of entrepreneurs and technologists, and we are now looking for an accomplished CTO to lead the venture. If you are up for it, you will:
- Execute, build upon, and scale the business’ technology and product vision. Empower the team to take ownership of this vision and drive the company’s success. Develop a vision for the development of a strong technology platform by aligning short term deliverables with long term objectives.
- Continue to build out the technology backbone of the company. Includes, but not limited to: API design and development, cloud infrastructure, integration with bank and ERP systems, and mobile app development.
- Build and lead a high caliber team. Facilitate recruitment, retention, and professional development of “A” player early hires across all technology profiles.
- Own technical architecture and development. Assume accountability for the design, implementation, and evolution of the technical systems. This includes making decisions regarding the selection of technologies, architecture design, and engagement with vendors or partners.
- Product direction. Engage with the wider organization to solicit feedback and identify opportunities where technology can serve as a unique competitive advantage.
- Staying ahead of the curve. Review and evaluate latest technology developments with the goal to integrate them in the product to improve the user experience.
- Support vendors and customers. Invest time with our partners and help them onboard and succeed using our products.
