What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Director of Operations to help the Venture Creation function at top velocity and quality. You’ll work directly within the Venture Creation team who has the responsibility of launching new companies each year. Your core responsibility will be to maintain and improve the team's "Playbook" i.e. set of tools, resources, best practices, to keep track and report on metrics and process, and to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. The Playbook covers but is not limited to: how to source ideas, how to source founders, how to validate ideas with customers, etc.

You’ll report directly to the Partner, Head of Venture Creation, and work closely with our 3 Venture Creation pods (Fintech, Crypto/web3, and ClimateTech).

What you’ll be doing:

• Act as the owner of the Venture Creation process from idea to Seed, and the product owner of the Playbook that documents our process and serves as the onboarding and day-to-day manual for the team. This means documenting and continuously improving the process, and being the go-to person for team members on "how-to" questions.
• Track metrics, report on performance, survey team to define priority areas to improve in the process/Playbook, and execute on those improvement opportunities (e.g. writing new documentation, finding and trial-ing new tools/vendors, conducting deep-dive projects).
• Own tooling and vendor relationships for the Venture Creation team.
• Own internal and external communication for the Venture Creation team (with other Diagram teams, with Partners, LPs, founders, and our broader ecosystem).
• Own organization of key team meetings (standups, investment meetings, brainstorming with other funds, team events, etc).

It would be great if you:

• Have education or certifications in/relating to project management (PMP, CAPM, agile/scrum, etc)
• Have experience in one (or more) disciplines involved in our Venture Creation process such as: market / customer research, talent sourcing, customer prospecting, etc such that you can act as a coach to the team in that discipline
• Have an understanding of early stage tech startups and an interest in the startup ecosystem

You should have:

• 5+ years of work experience in fields relating but not limited to hands-on operations, project management, consulting, project delivery, Chief of Staff, and program management
• Experience working in teams (ideally multi-disciplinary), and a collaborative mindset;
• A track record of outstanding performance (work, school, sports, hobbies);
• A proven entrepreneurial mindset.
