Your role as a Director of Software Development
Reporting to Vincent Deschênes, Vice-President of Engineering - Applications, you’ll be working on Dialogue’s Integrated Health Platform™, and more specifically leading the group responsible for the platform used by Dialogue’s health and wellness professionals delivering care for our members.
Directors of software development at Dialogue put their engineering expertise and management experience towards the success of their teams in delivering solid software products, solutions, and technology. You will inspire, support, and promote the growth of your team members. Your skill at managing stakeholders, including external clients, managing projects, costing, and budgeting will be put to good use. You and your group will join the Care Platform group in designing and building technically innovative solutions that empower our Integrated Health Platform™.
People who depend on Dialogue for a highly scalable, performant, and reliable platform benefit directly from the work you will do. You’ll be a primary driver in building a culture with strong engineering values and goals.
What you’ll be doing:
- Being the primary people manager for the members of your teams, responsible for performance management and career development
- Working closely with the Product stream lead in managing stakeholders (including external clients), scoping, and delivery
- Managing two scrum teams, with the support of each team’s tech lead
- Ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software, aligned with the company and functional goals
- Providing architecture oversight and guidance to your teams, and ensuring long-term platform viability
- Collaborating closely with other directors and VP's on personnel allocation and project management
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 5+ years of management experience
- A proven track record of performance in a similar role
- Professional experience in growth-driven industries such as startups and scaleups
- Bilingual (English/French)
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field a nice to have
