Your role as a Mental Health Specialist

Dialogue is looking for a Mental Health Specialist to take part in our mission to help people improve their wellbeing. Reporting to Annabel Tremblay, Interim Manager, Mental Health Specialist, your role will be to support and provide a high-quality experience to Dialogue members. A Mental Health Specialist can have a background/experience in social work, crisis intervention and/or short-term coaching (not therapy). They are specialized in mental health and provide an empathetic approach to interventions. They coach members with mild mental health symptoms, navigate members’ needs and send resources for out-of-scope issues. Want to join our exceptional multidisciplinary team in an evolving industry? What you’ll be doing:

  • Assessing the needs and requests of our members on the platform
  • Accompanying members in their health care journey in collaboration with other professionals
  • Offering support in your short-term follow-ups to achieve objectives in a motivational interviewing approach
  • Ensuring patient navigation to other resources complementary to our services
  • Participating in and developing our database of community/public resources in Canada and our pamphlets on mental health
  • You will be responsible for patient safety in your member-facing role

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a mental health or human relations field
  • 2+ years of intervention experience as a social worker (or similar role) with a population presenting with challenges related to mental health including being comfortable with psychosocial assessments
  • Availability to work a minimum of 8 hours (up to 32 hours) a week, and on evenings (up to 8 pm) and weekends
  • Able to comfortably conduct consultations in French
  • Very good knowledge of community and institutional resources
  • A desire to work in an environment that encourages autonomy, professionalism and versatility
  • Attraction to work in an innovative environment, as well as an ease with computer tools

Please note that as we serve customers across Canada, bilingualism is essential for this position. You may be required to communicate in French and English.
