Who Are We?

At CMLS Financial, we strike a unique balance: the financial strength of a 50-year industry leader with the energy of a dynamic, fast-paced firm.

  • Growth & Exposure: With over $45 billion in assets under administration, our "booming" business means you gain high-level exposure and real opportunities for career advancement.
  • Supportive Culture: We are professional yet enjoyable. We provide a challenging environment supported by a team that wants you to succeed.
  • National Reach: Work with Canada’s most prominent banks, investment managers, and pension funds from a platform with offices coast to coast.

CMLS Financial, one of Canada’s largest commercial mortgage lenders, is at the forefront of Canada’s most significant affordable housing initiative. As volume continues to grow for the CMHC Apartment Construction Loan Program (ACLP), we are seeking a Bilingual Analyst, Portfolio Management to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Manager, Construction Finance, you will be working with the Portfolio Management team on the post-funding requirements of commercial construction loans. This is a high-visibility role where you will help manage a vital national portfolio, ensuring that over 50,000 purpose-built rental units successfully transition from construction to long-term stability.

Where You’ll Make An Impact:

  • Portfolio Oversight: Conduct annual loan reviews including affordability testing, DSCR/LTV assessments, and trend analysis to evaluate the performance of your assigned files.
  • Account Management: Handle loan conversions and post-funding requests, ensuring every project stays on track through its term.
  • Executive Liaison: Partner with leaders at top-tier real estate firms to obtain project and financial information.
  • Technical Reporting: Create deal-specific memos for unique credit events, translating complex information into clear, actionable summaries.
  • Information Management: Oversee the collection, review, and tracking of necessary documents for loan conversions and reviews.
  • National Team Integration: Collaborate daily with a diverse team of account managers, analysts, and funders from coast to coast, playing a key role in the workflow that converts construction projects into long-term loans.

What We Value:

  • Proficiency in English and French (verbal and written).
  • A proactive, self-driven approach. You take full accountability for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring every deadline is met without sacrificing quality.
  • You bring a systematic approach to high-volume workloads, ensuring that competing deadlines never compromise the accuracy or quality of your work.
  • A team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and brainstorming with stakeholders, but possesses the discipline to own your commitments and the ability to deliver results independently.
  • Post-secondary education in finance, economics, real estate, business administration, or a related field.
  • While not required, any experience with data manipulation and analysis using Excel or Power BI is considered a valuable asset.
  • One (1) year of experience in commercial real estate experience will be considered an asset.

Supporting Your Life at CMLS:

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive insurance (Drug, Vision, Dental) & Health and Wellness Spending Accounts.
  • Mental Support: 24/7 unlimited access to telemedicine, EAP, and mental health services for you and your family.
  • Time Off: 4 weeks paid vacation, plus personal/sick days and all statutory holidays.
  • Future Planning: RRSP Matching Program to help you build long-term wealth.
